Wanted to share some of my loves...my girls and design/ sewing...which is usually combined so that I am sewing for my girls!
I studied fashion at F.I.D.M. in SF and worked in product development/design, production, and technical design for several years. The best was working for John Rocha in Dublin, Ireland...talk about fun and excitement!!!! http://www.johnrocha.ie/ I fulfilled some childhood fantasies by being part of London and Paris Fashion Week!
I always wanted to design my own line and for a few years I did a children's line with a couple of friends. Alas with the economy crash it did not last :( I still enjoy creating for my girls, when I have time which is rare!

This is Me
In case you were wondering this is me:
In my Mirsa 60s Wool Vintage Dress that I adore!! I don't usually go for all over prints/designs. But it has a enough class and sophistication mixed with the right amount of funk! I love it!
Here is some details about the late clothing line:
Mirsa was an important Italian knitwear company, founded in 1937 by the Marchesa Olga di Gresy. The Marchesa di Gresy's knitwear business enjoyed great success on the back of the Italian ready-to-wear export boom of the 1950s. Mirsa produced high fashion ready-to-wear suits and separates which were in demand; Saks 5th Avenue was one enthusiastic reseller of Mirsa products. Mirsa manufactured both the Marchesa's own designs and, in the 1950s, some Emilio Pucci knits, to a similar standard and for the same export market. The company closed in 1984.

Vintage Lingerie
I have always loved Vintage Fashions but just recently found Vintage Lingerie so interesting and pretty!
Take a look at a few pieces I have collected:
The left Peignoir is from the 80s...but takes its romantic look from victorian times with very full sleeves inset with lace. The fitted waist also in the lace makes for such a delicate look. Of course the soft pink speaks of inocence.
The one on the right being from the 30's in the look of the era Bias cut and flowy. The Bias cut is always so flattering when done well! A pretty tulle and lace neckline finish the Sexy yet demure look. I can definately see this being worn under the high collared looks of the day.
Its always neat to see the details, fabrics and cuts used from different eras!

FOTC
Flight of the Conchords show in Berkeley is tomorrow night! I am so excited! They are a pair of wacky and hilarious New Zealanders who can make a song about anything. If you haven't seen any episodes from their HBO show...please look them up...you will be rolling!
And also they have a fun and scruffy vintage look to them as well!
